Oak
Professor Oak is the leading Pokémon expert in Pallet Town, and maybe the world. He gave Ash his first Pokémon, Pikachu and takes care of the Pokémon Ash doesn't currently carry. He spends almost all day caring for a vast amount of Pokémon, but manages to take some time to perform research and to help Ash, who calls constantly. Delia Ketchum
Ash's mom loves her little boy, often to a point where she embarrasses Ash. She constantly reminds him to wear clean underwear. Gary Oak
Prof. Oak's grandson, and Ash's rival. Gary is snobbish and rude, and is always seemingly one step ahead of Ash. Gary also has a group of cheerleaders who follow him around and cheer him on. Gary was out of action during the Orange League episodes, and when he came back for the Johto series, he had ditched his cheerleaders and seemed to have matured a bit. Though Ash and Gary have confronted each other several times during their journeys, they have only fought once... and Gary won with his Eevee. First appearance: Episode 101 - Pokémon I Choose You! Officer Jenny
Officer Jenny has relatives all over the land, who look like her and are named Jenny as well. Depending on the Jenny they encounter, Ash and the gang can find a helpful Jenny, a hostile Jenny, an overly suspicious Jenny or a hyper Jenny. Brock tends to fall in love with each one claiming each one is more beautiful than the others, even though they all look alike... All the Jennys also have killer motorcycles. Nurse Joy
Nurse Joy, like Officer Jenny has many members of her family spread through out the world operating Pokémon Centers. They are all nurses, they all look alike and they are all named Joy. Their personalities are more or less the same, all willing and able to help. They are also have Chansey assistants, whose caring attitude make it perfect for hospital work. Todd (aka Snap)
A shutter bug photographer who joined Ash, Brock and Misty on their journey for a few episodes near the end of the first season. He was reportedly photographing Pokémon on a secret island, and should show up again sometime in the future. First appearance: Episode 150 - Pokémon Paparazzi |

Giovanni
Not much is known about the force behind Team Rocket, except that he isn't too fond of Jessie, James and Meowth, and their constant bumbling. Giovanni runs the Viridian Gym, where Ash won an Earth Badge from temporary gym leaders Jessie and James. He also bio-engineered a super Pokémon, Mewtwo and taught it to fight. Butch and Cassidy
Butch and Cassidy are Giovanni's top Rocket Team, unlike Jessie and James. Also unlike Jessie and James, Butch and Cassidy's schemes almost always work, unless they are thwarted by a certain boy and his Pikachu. They own a Raticate, Hitmontop, Houndour and a Drowzee. Ritchie
Ash and Ritchie met at the Indigo League Tournament and they quickly became friends, together foiling Team Rocket's schemes for sabotaging the League events. However, in the fifth round, they found themselves facing each other. After a tough battle, Ritchie won, but he lost in the sixth round. After the League games, Ritchie and Ash parted ways, meeting up again when Ash reaches the Whirl Islands in Johto. Ritchie also owns a Pikachu, nicknamed Sparky.
